Tuna and rice salad: easy budget friendly recipe

This is a great recipe to make when the fridge is nearly empty since all the ingredients can sit in the cupboard for a while. It’s very easy, cheap, and delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cans of Tuna in Water 6 oz
  • 2 cups of Cooked Rice
  • 1 Can of Peas
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 2 tbsp Mayo
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt to Taste

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Start by cooking rice. If you have some precooked rice, even better, it will only take 5 minutes to make the whole meal.
  2. Open the tuna cans and drain completely of water.
  3. Open the can of peas and drain.
  4. Peel and chop an onion into small pieces.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine rice (warm or cold is fine), tuna, peas, onion, mayo, pepper. Add salt if needed. Feel free to experiment with other spices, a lot of them go very well with these flavors.
  6. Serve warm (if the rice was still warm) or cold with a side of sliced tomato if you like.
  7. Enjoy!Peapod
